Isn't nudism erotic, therefore leading people toward
sin?
Doesn't wash. A day at a nude beach or at a
nudist resort is less erotic than a day at most beaches. This is
hard for many people to believe, but in my view, true. You're less
likely to be aroused when there isn't all that high fashion
swimware calling attention to every curve and shape. No bright
colors, no peek-a-boo coverage of those "forbidden zones". The
attitude and dress of textile (yeah, that's what we call them)
beachgoers says "look at me" . The atmosphere at a nudist club or
beach says "talk to me".
Besides, at least for men, being naked in front
of others is naturally suppressive. The fear of calling attention
to oneself inappropriately keeps Mr. happy in check. Natural
social instinct works, as I'm sure it did long before "modern"
civilization started to think it knew better. I know it's hard to
believe, but it's no trick.
To me, nudism isn't a lifestyle in itself, but a refuge from some truly destructive aspects of our present culture. A simple getaway. I would rather simple nudity not be such a big deal, and walls and secrets not be required to prevent others from being offended. "Normal" should be a condition where people can express themselves, as themselves, and not feel shame about what they look like, or who they are. I'd rather not be classified as a nudist, naturist, or any other "-ist" by society. I'd rather we just be ourselves, each unique and individual.
If you give it a try, let me know how it went. Also let me know if I missed anything. Or write with questions. Good luck and enjoy yourself!
Hopefully, you won't go to all that trouble, only to leave soon after you arrived. It takes time to get really used to it. The more time you spend nude, the more you'll like it. I used to wonder why so many people choose to live in a nudist communities. Now I know and sometimes envy them. I don't think you ever grow out of being a nudist, you just grow out of not being one.

Naturism is characterized by the practice of
communal nudity. Nudity is seen by most people
as being the most obvious aspect of naturism.
While it is true that nudity is central to
naturism, it is also a means of encouraging
self-respect, respect for others, and for the
environment. To approach another person
completely naked is an act of trust. You are
saying, in effect, "Here I am, completely
unpretentious, with all my physical
imperfections on view. Accept me for what I am,
and I will accept you as you are. What you see
is the whole "me" as I really am." Such an
attitude can only engender mutual respect.
You feel really close to nature when you discard
your clothes and feel warm sunshine, fresh air
or cool water on the whole of your body. Being
naked outdoors gives you a great sense of
freedom.
